    I'm not following your thinking. I sold all my stuff early last year. I don't want to buy anything, I want to rent/race a car from someone who races but has one extra. All I've got left is my toolbox and race clothing/gear.

    Charlie - I'm thinkin the BMW's 244 DOHC motor would run in K/A or L/A. LSU - defense looks like an NFL practice squad to me. Patrick - I first guess is that the planetary trans are better suited for the larger motors and torque in A/AP.

    Thanks Steve. It seemed that ICR had fallen further into irrelevance, so I tried to help perk things up. There are of course perkier topics I can chose from. Tom, the only reason I bought this M3 was so i could pull the motor and run it in comp. I'm sure BMW won't mind, right?

    Oh, it's so. I bought the world's finest high performance sedan at a great price. But this thread has morphed, and is not about BMW. It's about where to buy and how much to pay for BAA, BAP and BA motors. My point is that you don't need to pay 125k for a motor when you can buy -.60 to -.65...
