This could be a fun thread if everyone posts a different way they lost a round and Will compiles the ways ,in an all new version updated when we are done...

I will start with what happened to us against Rampy in the semi's this past weekend:

1) Your starting line RPM relay falls out and hits you in the foot after your burnout.....when you put your foot to the floor on the line, the motor goes to the secondary chip (9,000) and the car takes off ,with the clutch on the floor.

2) Your power window won't go up before the run.

3) You have a flat tire while waiting in the staging lanes.

etc. etc. etc. please continue.....

Forgot to flip the swithches for the throttle stop when I was still running supergas. Ran about an 11.30 on 9.90 index

was unable to stage the car because the car would not move due to a broken transmissiin. Lost a 3rd round bye run. cayuga canada (ihra) 2002

I love the, towed the trailer to the track and forgot to put the race car in....one more way to lose....we might pass 101 ways....some of the losses have been, incredible really.....ya gotta love all the ways we have figured out to lose.....no, we didn't figure out anything, we just lost.

Ran out of gas on the money run while bracket racing. Had already covered him in 2nd gear.

We lost in dallas one time bc the tree malfunctioned. They said ian backed out of the beams but anyone who knows racing knows that thing on the deck at 7500 wants to go anywhere but back. the tape shows the car never moved but the only thing to come on the tree was the red light.

we ran out of air in the air bottle in columbus once.

our clutch disc cutter cut our discs crooked before first round in atlanta once.

my favorite thing wasnt a loss and wasnt even us but in qualifying one time a c/ed had his car in reverse on the starting line.. it seemed borderline reckless at the time but it was kind of funny

I saw this happen before too....Heard the driver's helmet was damaged from the whiplash....Makes ya wonder.

I have a few....

Crossed the "out of bounds line" at Englishtown, but did not hit the wall.
Forgot to close the petcock on the oil catchcan (twice).
Left the C02 bottle for the boost controller closed.
Left the C02 bottle for the boost controller open (it all leaked out.....no boost when leaving the starting line!).
Broke 3rd gear on the burnout at Atco 2 weeks ago.
Driver tried to shift into 6th gear with a 5 speed G-Force tranny.
Ran out of engines. We did 3 qualifying passes and broke 3 engines. Turned out to be a computer problem.

Crack a header when you start the car for round 1, in cooler air, must've been a hairline, then when the heat got to it...

At Martin last weekend, Fletcher's headlight fell out but he was on a bye. They opened his door and handed it to him. Went on to the next round.
