We have put together a 407ci small block. We plan on some local Top Dragster fun [NOT LODRS or IHRA divisionals! Too fast for my pocketbook!!].

It has just over 15:1 compression ratio and we are running VP's C14+ gas. High port Buick/Dart Heads, two 4500-750 carbs on Hogan tunnel, Dart Aluminum block engine and all of the other usual "go fast" stuff [see attachment].

Can any of you provide some guidelines on initial ignition lead? Currently running 30 degrees, but wonder how much more is practical before hurting things?

We have a digital 7, so we can do the advance/retard game, if that's the best solution.

Will you check your old log books and give an idea of what worked best for you?

Any names of folks still around that ran these heads successfully in the past?

    Thanks...

    DG
