    ICR Vegas Hot Pix

Sorry for missing the Houston picks, here's our picks to win in Vegas!

    1. David Rampy - Has the hot hand in Comp right now. Won at the fall race here last year, we feel he will do what it takes to get the win before going head to head with Butner, Taylor and Brogdon.

    2. Lou Ficco - Hard to count out the Pomona winner, has a strong racecar and a lot of index left.

    3. Dean Carter - Former two-time champ always finds a way to go rounds. Should be a late round player.

    4. Michael Stone - Look for last year's title contender to have a break out weekend in Vegas.

    5. Doug Lambeck - Scored a runner-up in Phoenix, would love to go one more round in Vegas.

    6. Jeff Lane - Has the car to add a national event win to his divisional score in Phoenix.

    7. Richard Freeman - Debuting new car here in Vegas, should be a 'contenda.'

    8. Jim Cowan - Has been going rounds of late. Our Comp 'Dark Horse' pick of the week.

    What's your picks?

Seems like I' m getting worse at these picks, but here we go again..........

    1. David Rampy........ has complete control of his ride and can't get hurt permanently........ and if you look at his normal mph of around 179 and see that he made 2 qualifying passes in the mid 160's, he has PLENTY left....... NO INDEX HERE DAVID, LEFT THAT DOG EAT!!!!!!!!

    2. Michael Stone...... got a soft spot for the kid and C/ED........ his lights may get him by this weekend..... BE YOURSELF KID!!!!!!!!

    3. Frank Aragona Jr....... running at about -.60 but 20 mph down......... no one can say he and his dad are not smart racers........ he's hanging in the bottom of the top half for a real good reason....... he's ready to break out....... COME ON D1 BAD-ASS!!!!!!!!

    4. Craig Bourgeoius....... this guy has been on the brink so far this season...... car can go..... and he can drive........ HEY CRAIG!!!!!!! NO WHEEL SPIN IN THE FINAL HERE!!!!!!

    5. Dean Carter........ a tough player no matter where he goes...... hasn't caught any break thus far....... could be his time as long as his buddy, RICKER, stays home.......

DARK HORSE: Vinny DeCeglie....... has always done good here........ if he gets that big bracket dialed, WATCH OUT!!!!!!!

    Index hits abound in R1!

Alot of index used up in a fast round, but Rampy, Lambeck, Ficco, Lane and Trumble come out clean.

    matchups

    round 2:
    rampy vs freeman
rambo shouldn't have to use up much if he cuts a decent light...freeman will have to murder the index to take the stripe in this one...

    stone vs. tanksley
we've heard how fast this new c/d of tanksley's is, but he hit the index pretty hard in round one. winner of this round takes a hit...

    mettler vs. justice
two fast hot rods, mettler's clean, justice is a tenth dirty. mettler would have to give this one away on the tree.

    mozeris vs lambeck
lambeck's clean and has the upper hand in this matchup....should be able to get by with minimal hit.

    THE OTHER SIDE...

    Ficco vs. Sallee
Two fast cars here....Ficco may have to use up more than he wants because that B/D will be charging....

    Brown vs. Aragona
Aragona got by pretty clean, so should have the upper hand.

    Lane vs. Trumble
Lane has a slightly better car, but he's going up against one of the best drivers around. If he slips a little on the tree, look for Trumble to take the winlight.

    Jones vs. Baldwin
Look for Baldwin's Super Mod to get the nod here...

Rampy vs. Freeman..... I'll take Rampy clean, but Freeman is tough

Tanksley vs. Stone... glad to see Tanksley got the C/D running but he took too much in the first round so I'm going with Stone

Mettler clean vs. Justice down .11.... gotta go with Mettler

Mozers down a dime vs. Lambeck clean... Lambeck but he takes some

Sallee vs Ficco... Sallee on a holeshot

Aragona vs Brown... Aragona has too much

Lane vs. Trumble... Lane is fast and a good driver... uses some to beat Trumble

Jones vs Baldwin... a toss up but Jones wins with better RT

    Quarters....

    Rampy over Stone

    Mettler over Lambeck

    Aragona over Sallee

    Lane over Jones

    Semis....

    Rampy over Mettler

    Lane over Aragona

    Final....

    Lane over Rampy

I'm seeing it shaping up as Rampy vs Aragona in the final.......... Aragona has taken some CIC but seeing that he has better than 5 mph in the bank, he should be OK..........

BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rambo is on a roll in that car and is clean.......... and it seems like everyone is trying to mow down the tree to beat him and coming up short........... He wins here today..........
