New Event at New England Dragway Added to Northeast Division; Event returns to South Georgia Motorsports Park in Southeast Division

GLENDORA, Calif. (Nov. 13, 2010) – NHRA released its 2011 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series schedule today, which features 41 events, with a minimum of five races conducted in each of NHRA’s seven divisions and four series specialty events.
The 2011 schedule also includes the addition of a new event July 22-24 at New England Dragway in Epping, N.H. in the Northeast Division.
NHRA Lucas Oil Series drivers in seven categories compete for valuable points leading to divisional and national championships and a share of the $561,000 purse. The series also includes three sportsman-focused national events: the JEGS NHRA Cajun SPORTSnationals in Belle Rose, La.; the JEGS NHRA Pacific SPORTSnationals in Fontana, Calif.; and the JEGS NHRA Northern SPORTSnationals in Columbus, Ohio.

Individual divisions may also have additional bonus programs available to racers.
Some prominent graduates of the NHRA Lucas Oil Series who have gone on to successful careers in the NHRA Full Throttle Series include Brandon Bernstein, Morgan Lucas, Shawn Langdon, Ashley Force Hood, and Jeg Coughlin.

I am pretty sure the D5 race at Great Bend is MAY 13-15 not April...

I sure hope so. Surely after this year's poor turnout, they wouldn't try to stack a race on the same weekend as Ennis a second time.

The only problem I have is the continuos block of races...Great Bend, Topeka NAT, Brainerd...then...Cordova, Brainerd NAT, Topeka, Indy NAT, Earlville...Come on now, how many people can take off for 3 & 5 weeks in a row? Really?

Yeah, the schedule has been consistently unfriendly and predictable since they made Great Bend the first stop (five or six years ago?). I know it has kept us from investing in a Stock or Super Stock ride and sticking to local bracket racing. I happen to love my job, and I'm not going to miss consecutive Fridays like that.

Two big conflicts with Div 2 and Div 4 races..
Feb. 18-20 Gainesville Raceway Gainesville, Fla.
Feb. 18-20 No Problem Raceway Belle Rose, La.

March 4-6 South Georgia Motorsports Park Cecil, Ga.
March 4-6 Houston Raceway Park Houston, Texas

Thats sucks as I know you Div 4 drivers usually help the week car count in Div 2.Who knows maybe see you all in Div 4 next year ?!?!

    Very true Tom.

If you live in the Fla panhandle or southern Alabama, you would have a Divisionals 300 mils away at the same time with No Problem and Gainesville.

If the Lord's willing and the creek don't rise, we plan to race a bunch of D4 next year, but moving everything up a few weeks will mean mine shaft conditions. Perhaps conditions lower than those experienced by the Chilean miners. Hell, it was -1100 this year.

I kinda wish we did`nt have to run in Feb, but you just can`t run a race down here in july not many racers and fans shows up . It gets so hot down here there will be no fans and without them no racing .

    Div / Nat. overlap

Oct. 7-9 LODRS 4-6 Thunder Valley Raceway Park, Noble, OK
Oct. 7-9 LODRS 7-5 Southwestern International Raceway, Tucson, AZ
Oct. 14-16 NHRA Arizona Nationals, Phoenix, AZ (PSM)
Oct. 14-16 LODRS 2-5 Silver Dollar Raceway, Reynolds, GA

Notice the 2 Arizona races that were early in the year are now Fall races.
This might hurt Noble and keep the left coasters away that need makeup races for Points. I would venture to say it will help car counts at the Az. races. Being real early in the year they were just too early for all the northern guys to dig out and go. I wonder how many Div 4 guys will go east to Ga. after Noble? This could make for some interesting points race finishes.

Yep, and there are two other minor mistakes in that original release. The Jeg's AllStars will be run at Route 66 in July (not June), and Spokane has not relocated from Washington to Oregon. ;)
