word on the street is the AA/SM's will have the big stick this year until they beat it up.....word I get is it will be soft enough it may take a while....

i'll throw this to the masses...

I think Bo and the gang have alot left on the table, a 7.64 @ 169 in the 2nd round. He's just playing possum until they hit the index enough to level the playing field, but then it might be too late for everyone else chasing the championship.

You're right Kevin......... there's a lot left on the table with the Butner car....... my indicator was his qualifying pass of 7.95 @ 181....... then he comes back running in the 60' at only 164 and 169.........

...... and Shane has the info also......... these cars will go 00's or even into the 6's at 200 mph or better.......... I just hope no one gets hurt!!!!!!!!!

As I said on another site, the reason I've had'nt jumped into this class already is because I've been discussing it with NHRA for the past 8 to 10 weeks and I just knew they were going to do something about it. As we all know now, I was wrong. NHRA honestly believes that 7.40's is the fastest anyone can go in this class. I tried to explain to them that I've been 7.70's with 1050hp in A/SM. We already know we can make 2200 + hp at 30lbs of boost. I asked them how much do they think 1200 hp is worth? Lets say because of the way your going to have to run these Super Mods, you'll have to back it down to 1800 hp to keep it from ripping them apart, thats still 800 hp more than when I run A/SM. We estimate it takes 35 to 40 hp for a tenth on our normal combinations. 800 hp using 100 hp per tenth = 6.90. I asked NHRA to let me know if they were going to do anything to correct what I thought was an obvious mistake. I also told them if no changes were forth comming I truely thought the next NHRA Comp World Champion would be in AA/SM. There reply was no changes were being planned at this time but they did reserve the right to correct any index at any time. Needless to say we are hard at it trying top get our AA/SM completed. We should be testing in 3 weeks!
