Is it legal to exit the headers on a Comp altered door car thru the fenders at the firewall.?? thanks Bob

Looking at the A/PM class, I believe that their headers, or zoomies, exit in the area.. keeping that in mind, I believe in an "ALTERED" class, you would be OK.. BUT THEN, I believed that all billet heads should be accepted in any "ALTERED" class too.. altered is altered, RIGHT??.. until it's not..

Bob I'm sure it is as long as it is directed as per the rule book. It needs to be passed in such a way that it directs toward the rear of the car. Not through driver compartment(oxy moron but hey who am I to judge) not aiming toward a fuel tank. Sounds like how you're wanting to do it falls along those lines.

Thats the way the rulebook reads! Come on Charlie I mean its said OEM no billet for I, K and L for years. I would have loved to have done Billet heads in K but wasnt allowed. Its the problem with this class in general its become like when we were kids playing a game with buddies and one always just made up their own rules......Just sayin

Thanks Clint The rule book is very open to interpretation !! Just want to do them once . again thanks Bob

I get all that nonsense, Clint, BUT just because it's been that way for years, doesn't make it right.. why are any ALTERED classes relegated to OEM parts??.. it's called ALTERED for a reason.. stuff is expected to be ALTERED.. Comp engine builders are bred to make alterations.. I remember when ECONO could not have aluminum heads.. what happened there??.. can't say parts availability, cause Stock and Super Stock have plenty.. hang on, hang on, I just found another can of worms to open.. all comes down to the whiners, and who gets the grease when.. SIMPLE!!.. LMAO!!!

That I totally agree with. To me it just makes more tech issues(which is non existent now anyway)

OEM heads were required for decades in the last altered classes and several cars with this rule were built and now with a little whining many cars will now be obsolete. No big deal right Bob. Steve Beniot was the original whiner and wore out a couple phones on me because I had half a brain, developed items and ran good with them. Use to be innovation but the stupid/lazy so called racers had a finger and a phone. I had at one time (5) rules in the rule book you could not do after running them for years. There are still a couple left in the rule book. What's a $100K, right Bob?
