HP per cu in.

Buck - in order to be very competitive in NHRA Comp AA/A you would need between 3.0 and 3.1 HP/cid (in a modern style door car). By very competitive I mean a car that could qualify in the top 4.

For comparison, a top 500 cid Pro Stock engine makes 1450-1475 HP or 2.9-2.95 HP/cid, maybe even more. Good luck! :)

What sytle of car do you have and what does it weigh? What's your best ET and MPH? I will try to estimate how much HP you have now. Since you are only trying to make a little more HP than the NA engine - it seems like a good choice.

Buck - the 23'T bucket really hurts when you are trying to run 6.85 at 200+ MPH. :(

You would need about 1300 HP for this combo to run -0.60 under the 7.45 AA/A index . . . which works out to 3.4 HP/cid. There have been a couple of good running blown gas cars over the years but I think they were both Corvettes.

I got excited about building a AA/A comp car there for a few minutes. With a ProCharger it would be a slam dunk making 1300hp on gas with the above engine.
But then I dug into the rule book and see they are not allowed.

Sooo, back to outlaw racing.

I had a friend that tried BB/A.......blown gas is a very hard combo to get happy. If i remember right they were in the 7-1 range on compression.
