What might be a good combination for a mopar super modified? Stick only (5 speed liberty). Any size or number of cylinders, only limitation might be getting a car light enough for some combos. Any ideas or suggestions?

05 Dodge Stratus can get to around 2800lbs race weight based upon conversations I've had with someone that currently runs one.

97 Avenger, early Daytona's I believe can be made lighter as they are smaller cars and have a lower OEM curb weight. Wes Leopold(Daytona and new Stratus), George Vignogna(Sebring ie Avenger twin), James Caro(Avenger), Mark Nowicki(Avenger), Lloyd Wofford/Sonny Stancil(Stratus) and Scott Gove(Daytona) would all be good people to talk about regarding these model cars and maybe further ways to remove weight out of the car. Also, Darren at B&B Race Cars built the Wofford/Stancil Stratus so he would be a good contact as well. On a similar note as Mike stated below, Scott Gove was the SS/AM record holder for years with a 5speed and W8 headed engine in Super Stock. Also, has been high 7's with that combo.

P5 SB Hemi or P7 Nascar, or destroked Pro Stock Hemi for the canted valve classes
W8 or W9 SB for the wedge only classes

Also, an aluminum headed hemi can possibly be made to work given the power they're making in Super Stock. With bigger better valves, shorter stroke, bigger ports, and more rpm, it may have some potential but it would be an unproven combo. It would also probably need a shorter deck to keep rod length down. Also, as i'm sure your aware, its OEM heads only in Super Modified.

Anyway, that my two cents based on research I've done on potential combo's to run. I'm no expert either, so check everything for yourself as well.

Wes Leopold Jr, he was my first boss I ever had. He ran/runs SS/AS (8.5 pound class) for years. Set the record in a '93 Daytona at 8.40-something at the 2010 Dutch Classic. 394 cid Rick Waters Hemi, single 850 carb, 3100-some pounds. His current car is an '05 Stratus, same motor, has been 8.50's. If I had to venture a guess, I would say a car like that would work well.

I have run mopars for a long time started with the w7's then w8's then p5 wedge now the p5 hemi I have ran from 304' small block the 374 small block I have now the potential is there for a varity of classes the only problem is the cost is more than the GM stuff

Thanks for the feedback. Just kicking around the idea of a possible comp combination for my 68 cuda.
