I run A/EA. I have a blinder.
I had not sat in a car for 4 years and my first lap was a .430 light with a Biondo long switch. Trying to slow myself down { 1 steamboat....?} puts me all over the board on reactions. I'm must be from the old west because I believe back in the gun slinging days, quick reactions were a virtue. I think quick reactions are what make good drivers good in F-1, NASCAR, CART, SCCA and blah, blah on and on. I believe quick reactions are a virtue in the pro classes. Is Comp a stepping stone to the pro classes? I'm asking, I'm new at this. If so, I think it should be just like Prostock. Welding your opponent to the tree should be a method of winning.
Cutting a fair light and knowing when to shut your car off before the finish line is odd to me. I thought this class was all about performance. It is, but it's not.
I suggested the 4 tenths pro tree but now I can see how it would be hard for the stick guys. 4 tenths full tree? ....yea. The Auto guys can use a blinder and bottom bulb it and the stick guys can use no blinder and see the tree coming.
