Hi everyone, I have not raced in a few years but now hope to get out soon, maybe by the Pacific div 6 race in June. Can someone give me the quick lowdown on when a permanent index hit takes place? Not a "personal" one but one that lowers the index for all involved running that index? I was told its .70 under? Do qualifying runs count? I tried logging into NHRA.com to look at the rules and for some reason it wont open.

Thanks, Mark.

Ok, I got NHRA.com open and the way I read it a PERMANET index hit that affects everyone running that index is .710 or more under in eliminations only, not during qualifying? Is that right?

Yes, that is correct. You will not affect your permanent index until you run .710 under the current permanent. You affect your personal beginning at .610. That is, unless the race you attend falls under the "mineshaft" rule, which makes the hits .760 and .660, respectively. And yes, only in elims

Yes, Ben.. Al is a tough character, and races to win.. but he also makes every attempt to protect the class.. unless it's in deep rounds of course.. F/D is a pretty good class, and I think that there are only 3 of them out there, including you.. there are also some good pieces available to step up your program.. hang tough, and look around..

Absolutely, Charlie. I always say if you want to be the best you have the beat the best, and Mr. Ackerman is that, for sure. We just like to joke around that we jumped into the lion's den head first with our eyes closed!!
