With the new rules concerning Pro Stock, do we look into adding a new index for them in Comp? And if NHRA decides to bring in the Hemi s and Factory cars this could increase participation, especially at the National Event level. Move to a pro ladder and a Pro Tree, car count should go up 20%.

Just my opinion...

Pro Stock index 7.20
Hemi s 8.90
Factory Stock 8.70

The Hemi S and factory stock indexes seem like great ideas but why would the pro stock guys not be expected to run in either A or B altered?

Interesting ideas..

NOW.. would the Pro Stock class be able to run under the old Pro Stock rules, as well as the new rules??..

AND.. those indexes look pretty good, Chad.. 60 under runs would be impressive..

I have not looked at the national records, but a thought would be:
( take the average Super Modified class national record) - (respective index) = 0.xx seconds.

Whatever 0.xx is, then add that value to the current national record for SS/AH and FS/XX to determine the index. Same strategy for the Pro Stock index. Maybe use A/A, B/A, C/A in the calculation for Pro Stock.

The 60 under is a good idea, perhaps the "equation" listed above would provide a mathematical equation and a decision based on calculated data from similar classes.

Just my 2 cents.
Thanks, Ron

Any and all ideas are great , poll could be 100% positive, nothing will come of it,
Past experience has proven this,

Having a few Pro Stock cars in Comp , on an index , is not unlike the Pro Mods running in Comp on the index........better than not running at all due to not qualifying in an 8 car field . The guys in Pro Stock came from Comp and it is the only Sportsman class they would consider......Comp benefits.....the poor guys in Pro Stock benefit ,
