SBC blower motor ?

Does anyone know if the Dart/Buick heads could handle a blower with alot of boost ...or am I just kidding myself ? Thanks for any input on the subject. CFE does not think it could handle much boost with out some deck problems.

What do you consider alot of Boost? Gas or alky?? What CID and what typr of power are you looking for?? Dart Buick heads on a blown motor make big numbers!! 14-71?? Easy 1000hp potential on small cid sbc with right tune on alky.

I've run a little 355 with RJS Pro Top Line Heads (Buicks are WAY better) with 25lbs of boost making over 1000hp. Any aluminum head on an iron block will have head issues. You'll need to check valves each run and re-torque heads each race.

Blower

Randy Ross ran a 307 Cu in SBC with the Dart heads and as a BB/A back a decade or two. The Buick heads have a stable valve gear and will do the job @ 9,000. I have seen the boost run at 30 W/14-71 and low overdrive. The low overdrive kept the intake air cooler for the gas. If he did it on gas I'm pretty sure it can be done on Alky.
