Who was contacted by their SRAC rep about the proposed and now new CIC changes?
I am an SRAC representaive for D1 and i would like all my fellow Comp racers to know that when we (all the SRAC reps) were sent the proposal for our review and input we were NOT asked not to discuss this with anyone. We were also NOT asked to discuss it with anyone. We were simply asked for our input.
As a rep I feel that any input i give to the SRAC should reflect the majority of how my fellow divison Comp racers feel, so I chose do it in the form of a vote among my DI Comp racers and thats how I voted.
I myself are interested to know how it was handled by the other reps, so I urge all of you to reply to this thread if you were contacted before 1/25/13 (which is when the SRAC reps voted) and how & if it was presented to you. This should be open book and not taken offensively by my fellow Reps

Frank we were never contacted by our elected rep. This is what I am most pissed about something that affects my pocketbook and we do even get a e-mail-call, that is also what i was pissed off last night about the SECRET FORMULA. I commend you for thinking of your fellow racers and that is what makes you a champion. BTW order a matching extra seat today to run Super Stock looks like they are getting the increased car they wanted [just in the wrong classes LOL]
Thanks Frank

What VOTE are you talking about Frank ?

I know about half of d6 got an email from our d director and everything proposed looked good, mineshaft minium being lowered, no free ride for 66-71, and dead indexes getting some back.

As I'm a D1 person, I was contacted by Frank. I've not had much involvement with anything the SRAC has ever done, but I must say our reps here in D1 for SS (Kent Hanley) and Comp (Frank A) do a FANTASTIC job of sharing information with the "constituents".

Frank sent us all an email outling the proposed changes and very clearly communicated that he would vote as the majority wished, without regard to personal gain. We were asked for a simple yes or no answer on the three questions Aaron mentioned above.

The outcry is over the giving back of index. As proposed, it didn't seem like a bad idea. Over the last two seasons, classes that haven't appeared to be competitive were going to be considered for a .01-.05 bump. This was being done to help participation. We can all have all the opinions we want, but on the surface, this did not seem like the worst idea ever. Good intentions, perhaps less than flawless execution.

Rob I think you missed most of the SRAC conference call meeting on 1/25/13.
As I stated on the conference call I contacted all of my fellow division racers by email with the proposed changes and asked the for a simple yes or no to each of the items on the proposal. If they didn't respond to email I called them and I reached 85% of them in 2 days.
The other vote I mentioned was that Rob Park had each SRAC rep vote for each item on the conference call meeting.

I was not contacted. I haven't had a horse in the race in a few years, but still active.
