Not being familiar with this track, would someone explain why Comp is running 1/8th mile??..

 

Always been like that. Track is short, all fast classes run 1/8 mile. I believe all super classes run 1000 feet.

Comp, super stock, and stock run 1/8th due to not having 1000 ft. indexes. Top Sportsman/dragster run 1000 ft., so there's enough shutdown for the rest of us to run 1000...hopefully they will develop indexes at some point. Supposedly Mr. Wells has tried to purchase the land at the end of the track to lengthen it to the 1/4, but the lady that owns it will not sell.

 

It would be nice if they would conform to Wally Park's idea of drag racing.. 1320 ft, historically, is a drag race.. might just be my opinion, but these shorter distances will be the ruination of this sport.. just sayin'...
