If you talked to NHRA and they said NO, sounds like that's your answer

    Personal Index Restoration System

The following system will take place as a one-time restoration for the 2023 season.

Racer’s Personal Index at End of 2022 Season Amount of Personal Index to be Restored for Start of the 2023 Season

    .02 -.03 hundredths of PI .01 hundredth

    .04 - .05 hundredths of PI .02 hundredths

    .06 + of PI .03 hundredths

(this is total PI which includes any PI received in previous yrs)

The way I read that was "End of 2022 season" meaning.... 2022. Now will this continue into 2023 and beyond?

As the NHRA official stated.... I believe No. One time deal end of 2022 season. Or at least I hope a 1 time deal. This will not be good for the class if it continues every year.

It's unfortunate if it's just a one time deal.. many racers have been struggling as a result of the PI.. at least they'll get a few back, IF they stick around.. some having purpose built cars, can not easily change classes to get away from the PI thing.. not to mention the cost of doing so..
