Big time congrats to Dennis Smiley and his family for the win in Denver this weekend! I don't know if that was your first win or not.

Also good showing by Steve Holloway.

AWESOME JOB Dennis, way to go! we are very proud of you. Now if you could just get that thing to run down low.....lol 1.02 in Denver is stout!

Dennis,
This is the reward you get for the very hard work that you have put into getting your combo sorted out. Great Job!!!!

Way to go Dennis! You guys worked your butt off for that one!!

Good job, Steve, 2 years in a row....to the final. That monster motor is tough to beat on the mountain.

I know we told you at the track but Congratulation again Dennis! It was so much fun to watch you win your first race! You earned it buddy! See you at the Mile Highs!

great job! this family deserves a win, they have been doing this a long time. congrats from the ficco's.

Congrats Dennis

We all at TRE are real proud of Dennis and his family, we have built a few/serviced engines for the Smileys all the way back to when he ran B/ED in 1992 or so. No one deserves it anymore for all the dedication and hard work. Its really cool to see you guys bring home a trophie!! Now if we could couple your killer front half numbers with Hatchers back half numbers not many could stop you!! Good luck the rest of 08'

To Dennis and crew(Cathy) this is truly a well deserved win!!!! Sorry we had to leave before the final. Now you know why we keep doing this stuff.
I can see the smile on your faces from here.
Congrats again.

Great JOB!!!!!

Great job by all. How many times are you two going to run against each other first round this year. Team Work at it's best this past weekend.

Thanks Will, Clint and Rob. We're in the finals two years in a row and both cars red lite both years! What are the chances of that happenin? As i said to Dennis, typically I am delighted to see two red lights because I have the lower index, but not yesterday.

But I have yet to see any recent comments here on altitude adjustment factors. Everyone must be content.

If this weekend didn't prove to everyone that the altitude factors are a complete joke, then I don't know what else to say. I truely believe that NHRA will step in & fix this problem.

Let me start by saying two things:
  1. I make a living making good arguments, and,
  2. Perhaps this belongs on another thread:

That said, this year I have run:
  1. -.563 at Pomona at 2500 ft
  2. .-574 at Phoenix at 2200 ft
  3. -.57 at Great Bend at 2400 ft
  4. .-566 at Denver at 8300 ft

Based on my times, the factors seem correct.

Craig, whataya say?
